About MALESW
Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Survivors Weekend (MALESW) was held on October 2 through October 4, 2009. It was an amazing weekend where old friends got to see each other and new survivors became part of our close-knit family. MALESW 2010 will be held from October 1 through October 3. More information will be available in the future.
MALESW is unique in that it recognizes the truly forgotten heroes: the survivors of fallen law enforcement officers. Survivors include family members and co-workers. The weekend focuses on law enforcement survivors from the following states: New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. However, in past years we have honored the requests of families that reside in our region and hosted families from Georgia and Colorado, in addition to those from the Mid-Atlantic region. We are also different in that we recognize survivors from not just the current year, but those that were killed in the line of duty from the past. The event is hosted annually by the North Wildwood Police Department and is held in the seashore resort of North Wildwood, New Jersey. 5K Run and 1K Walk
The 5K Run & 1K Walk was held on Saturday, July 18, in North Wildwood, NJ. It kicked off at Keenan’s Pub, located at 1st & NJ Avenues in North Wildwood. It was a success! Many folks registered in advance and the large number of runners who came up to register on the 18th was fantastic - a wonderful turn-out for the summer event. The results have been compiled and are available for viewing as a PDF file.
